Health Unlimited has changed its name to Health Poverty Action as part of a rebranding designed to indicate more clearly what the charity does.

The development charity said the name change would sharpen its identity and focus on its key mission of providing health care to the poorest and most marginalised people in the world.

The rebranding, which was carried out free of charge by communications consultancy Group MB, will become official from today.

Martin Drewry, director of Health Poverty Action, said: "This new name tells people exactly what we do, which is crucial in this digital age.

"But it is more than just a name change. It is a reaffirmation of our mission to tackle the twin challenges of poverty and ill health around the world."
