Braund joins the leukaemia charity from Shelter, where she was resources director for 10 years. Her role included responsibility for IT, HR, planning, property and facilities. She succeeds Steve McEwan, who was killed in a traffic accident in September 2008.
"It is a great privilege to be appointed chief executive of such a well-known and well-regarded charity as the Anthony Nolan Trust," said Braund. "The next few years will be very exciting as new initiatives and research promise great opportunities for the charity and, most importantly, for the patients we're here to help. I'm immensely proud to be leading Anthony Nolan at such a momentous time."
