Hind signs up for two more years at the commission

Andrew Hind, the chief executive of the Charity Commission, has signed a two-year extension to his contract that will keep him at the regulator until October 2010.

Hind became the commission’s first chief executive in 2004, signing a four-year contract.

Dame Suzi Leather, chair of the commission, said the extension reflected Hind’s leadership and personal commitment over the past three years.

“There is further work to do implementing the Charities Act and leading our ongoing internal restructuring, and the board and I agree it is important for there to be continuity with the chief executive,” she said.

A commission spokeswoman said Hind had been happy to sign the extension, which will be on the same terms as his existing contract. “The expectation on both sides is that there won’t be any further extensions,” she added.
