Hospice hopes to open superstore

Compton Hospice plans to open a new charity superstore in Shropshire.

The charity wants to transform an 8,500-square foot showroom in the Stafford Park retail centre and has submitted a change of use application to Borough of Telford & Wrekin Council.

If approved, the superstore will offer shoppers a one-stop shopping experience similar to that of a department store. Merchandise will include furniture, electrical goods, giftware, clothing, toys and household wares.

"Many of our customers want the convenience of large retail park shopping, including free parking and a large assortment of goods on offer under one roof," said Sue Chance, retail manager of Compton Hospice. "It will also make it much easier for people to be able to drive up to the door and donate their goods."
