Housing charity appoints Barclays executive to corporate services role

Housing association Peabody Trust has appointed David Lavarack, formerly chief operating officer of Barclays corporate affairs and marketing, as corporate services director.

Lavarack – who has 20 years of experience at Barclays having also held posts in strategy, planning and commercial lending – will be responsible for human resources, information technology, corporate communications and business planning at Peabody.

He replaces Ronnie Clawson who joined housing association the Riverside Group as corporate services director in October 2006.
Lavarack said the move was an opportunity to “take forward the transformation programme that is radically changing the way the Trust operates”.

Stephen Howlett, chief executive of Peabody Trust, said: “Lavarack’s commercial acumen and experience in strategic change management and organisational development will help us deliver our vision of becoming recognised as an outstanding provider of housing services.”
