Jade Jagger is new face of breast cancer campaign

Dominic Wood

Model Jade Jagger has been chosen to front this year's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign, which raises funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer through the sale of fashion merchandise.

Snapshots of Jagger alongside other people wearing the campaign T-shirts will appear on four versions of a new poster advert to be seen across the UK on billboards and in magazines until June.

The T-shirts, which feature the purple and turquoise target logo, are available in eight styles and various colours and will sell for between £10 and £17 in high street stores such as River Island and Harvey Nichols. The charity will receive an average of £7.50 each from each T-shirt sold.

A Breakthrough spokeswoman said the charity hoped to raise £1m from the sale of around 60,000 T-shirts and other goods. Jagger is also committee chair of the annual fundraising ball, The Art of Fashion, which will be the culmination of the Fashion Targets initiative at London's Dorchester on 9 June.

Last year's campaign netted the charity £1.4m. Previous celebrities to have fronted the fundraising drive include Elle Macpherson and Helena Christensen.
