Kevin Curley, the former chief executive of the local infrastructure body Navca, has been appointed to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations’ advisory council.

The body is an informal group that meets three times a year, to inform the organisation’s policy work. None of its members are paid.

Other members of the panel include Justin Davis Smith, chief executive of Volunteering England, the Labour peer Baroness Jill Pitkeathley and Jane Slowey, chief executive of the Foyer Federation.

Curley retired as chief executive of Navca last month, having led the organisation since 2003. He was replaced by Joe Irvin.
