Maria Largey has been appointed to the newly created role of director of philanthropy and strategic partnerships at Opportunity International.

She joins the microfinance charity from JPMorgan's Asset Management division, where she has been vice-president of the London office since September 2007.

Largey said: "Working for Opportunity International will allow me to apply my private sector skills to the third sector. Opportunity's work is fascinating and should particularly appeal to those who work in the financial services sector because it understands the power of money."
