Missing People teams up with Five News

Programme will broadcast reconstructions and appeals as part of Missing Month

Five News will broadcast appeals for missing people every weekday for a month as part of a partnership with the charity Missing People.

During Missing Month, Five News will broadcast reconstructions, interviews with families and comments from charity spokespeople as well as appeals for missing people. The charity will get up to a minute of airtime every weekday.

The Five News website will also publicise Missing People's work and ask people to donate £5 by text message.

"Our hope is that the Missing Month will help us to reunite some of the families who are living in limbo after the disappearance of a loved one, and make the public aware of the charity's need for funds," said Alison Cowan, director of fundraising and marketing at Missing People.

Appeals and interviews for Missing Month, which began this week, can be seen on 5pm and 7pm bulletins every weekday until 28 August 2009.
