David Ainsworth's round-up of what's happening in the finance world

A social enterprise summit designed to help social enterprises and the public sector in London to work together will take place at City Hall on 22 June. The meeting will be attended by the heads of several major social enterprises and by local authority representatives. It will look at how local authorities can help social enterprises grow and how organisations can become more involved in the 2012 Olympics and youth engagement programmes.

The Charity Finance Directors' Group has launched its annual risk survey of the not-for-profit sector. The survey looks at the impact of the recession to date, changes in income and spending, and how charities have reacted to those changes.

The Directory of Social Change is holding a training event for charities that includes seminars on finance, management and legal issues on 24 and 25 June in London. The Charityfair event, at Central Hall Westminster, will feature courses on full cost recovery, understanding VAT, the charitable incorporated organisation and improving management practices.
