The Charity Accountants' Conference, held by the Directory of Social Change, will take place on 17 and 18 September in Leeds. Two new training seminars to help charities apply for public sector contracts are being held by the NCVO. The training sessions will address funding agreements and tendering agreements. A working group has been formed to assess how cooperatives will apply for the Social Enterprise Mark, the quality assurance mark for the sector. Rise, the social enterprise body for south-west England, will work with Cooperatives-SW and Co-operatives UK to assess a set of indicators to measure the social impact of cooperative applicants. Some cooperatives have said they fear they will find it difficult to qualify for the mark.
