Movers: Beryl Hobson, head of large charities, Charity Commission

Beryl Hobson has been made head of large charities at the Charity Commission.

Hobson joins the regulator after working as interim chief executive of Group B Strep Support, a charity that offers information and support to families affected by Group B Streptococcus, the most common cause of life-threatening infections in new-born babies.

She was previously insurance marketing manager at Bradford & Bingley bank and has also worked as marketing director for Cassidy Davis Insurance Group at Lloyd's of London.

Hobson's brief is to manage and deliver the commission's advice and support services to charities whose annual income exceeds £5m.
