Movers: Bill Kilgallon, chief executive, St Gemma's Hospice, Leeds

Bill Kilgallon has been made chief executive at St Gemma's Hospice, Leeds.

He previously spent four years as chief executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence, which was set up by the government to improve social care in the UK. Kilgallon began his voluntary sector career when he founded St Anne's Shelter and Housing Action in Leeds in 1971, where he later became chief executive. He was awarded an OBE in 1992 for his work with the hospice.
