Cathcart joins the BYC from the Prince's Trust, where he held several policy and programme development briefs over nearly 10 years. His most recent work has been on secondment to homelessness charity Centrepoint, where he worked to promote opportunities for homeless young people.

"This will be an exciting and important year for BYC," said Cathcart. "We will continue our work in helping young people to have their say and campaign on issues that matter to them, such as education, an equal national minimum wage, votes at 16 and climate change."
