Movers: Maddy Halliday, director for Scotland, the Stroke Association

Maddy Halliday has been appointed director for Scotland at the Stroke Association.

Halliday joins from Parenting Across Scotland, the parent-support group funded by the Scottish Executive, where she worked as coordinator for a year. She previously spent six years as director for Scotland at the Mental Health Foundation.

In her new role, she will head the association's new Edinburgh office, with the objective of improving the charity's profile all over Scotland.

Jon Barrick, chief executive of the association, said: "We are now in a position to challenge stroke across the UK and Maddy will lead our activity in Scotland, strengthening the voices of those affected by stroke."
