Movers: Mark Goldring, chief executive, Mencap

Goldring has been chief executive of international development and volunteering charity VSO for the past nine years and will succeed Jo Williams, who announced her retirement earlier this year. He previously worked at Oxfam, the Department for International Development and the United Nations Development Programme. He will begin his new role in November.

"I will not be making any drastic changes to Mencap's structure, because it already has strong foundations," he said. "But in order to drive it forward, I will be listening to its needs and evaluating any small changes that can be made."

The chief executive post at VSO is being advertised.
