Movers: Martin Brookes, chief executive, New Philanthropy Capital

Martin Brookes has been promoted to chief executive at New Philanthropy Capital.

Brookes, currently research director at New Philanthropy Capital, will take up the role of chief executive in March, when he will succeed the incumbent, Nigel Harris. Brookes said he was delighted to take on the role and would pursue the charity's work to change the way donors think about giving money to charities and the way charities think about their effectiveness. David Robins, chair of NPC, said: "Martin is the UK's leading commentator on effectiveness in charities, and he and Nigel have worked closely together for six years to develop NPC's mission."
