Movers: Polly Toynbee, president, British Humanist Association

Polly Toynbee, the journalist and political and social commentator, has been appointed president of the British Humanist Association.

She takes up the post that fell vacant after the death of comedian Linda Smith last year. Toynbee said: "We need to oppose religious zealotry by promoting the positive case for believing life on earth is precious because the here and now is all there is."
