"I'm delighted to be joining St Peter's Hospice at such an exciting time," she said. "This year the hospice is celebrating 30 years of caring in Bristol and it has become a really significant organisation in the city.
"I know St Peter's has a very special place in many people's hearts in Bristol. It is my wish that we help many more local families who desperately need our unique hospice care."
Foxall-Smith replaces Malcolm Fellowes-Freeman, who leaves after 12 years.
