NCVO seeks chair to replace Sir Graham Melmoth

'Outstanding communicators' should apply by 29 January

Voluntary sector umbrella body the NCVO is advertising for a new chair as Sir Graham Melmoth's second term nears its end. 

Melmoth, a former chief executive of the Co-operative Group, will stand down in November. The umbrella body's constitution says that its chair can serve only two three-year terms.

The NCVO wants to appoint someone for an initial three-year period. The job advert says the successful candidate will be an "outstanding communicator with superlative networking and diplomacy skills".

The person must also have "the gravitas and leadership experience to ensure we continue to grow as a pioneer in the sector" and have experience of chairing meetings "at a high level".

The position requires a time commitment of one day a week. CVs and covering letters should be emailed to The closing date is 29 January.
