New accounting software at Garden Organic

Garden Organic has appointed consultants Touchstone Group to implement a new financial accounting and management reporting system.

The new system, Microsoft Dynamics GP, will be used to produce improved management information to allow the charity to better manage the needs of its 40,000 members who include farmers, gardeners, and organic living enthusiasts.

“The system will save the equivalent of one full person – this means we now have the time to discuss in more detail with our budget holders so we get to understand their needs and requirements better,” Said Ed Hart, Garden Organic financial director.

Garden Organic, formerly the Henry Doubleday Research Association, is dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food. It manages demonstration gardens in Warwickshire, Kent and Essex, as well as running an education programme in schools across the UK.
