New appointment will 'ensure effectiveness' of Capacitybuilders

Capacitybuilders, the voluntary sector support service, has appointed Catherine Johnstone, the former chief executive of Regional Action and Involvement South East, as special adviser.

Johnstone's responsibilities will include supporting the development and delivery of the ChangeUp programme and “aligning the organisation ever more closely with the sector”.

She will also focus on ensuring the “effectiveness and appropriateness” of Capacitybuilders’ work.

Simon Hebditch, chief executive of Capacitybuilders, said Johnstone would assess feedback on the Destination 2014 strategy, which sets out targets for ChangeUp.

“Catherine’s experience and knowledge of the third sector will be of huge benefit to Capacitybuilders in the development and delivery of that strategy”, he added.

Johnstone will start her new role on 1 October.
