The Institute of Fundraising will help to launch a new advanced qualification in fundraising later this year.
Adrian Sargeant, professor of fundraising at the Centre on Philanthropy, Indiana University, who is writing the Advanced Diploma in Fundraising course, will talk to delegates at the convention today about its content and teaching methods.

Speaking before the session, Paul Marvell, director of professional development and membership at
the IoF, which devised the course with the US-based Association of Fundraising Professionals and the
European Fundraising Association, said it would run for six months.

There will be a coursework element and two residential courses of three days each at a location in south-east England that is yet to be confirmed. Marvell said the course would cost about £3,500 and would equate to a third of a master’s degree.
