Charity aims to raise an additional £1m by the end of this year

The British Heart Foundation has extended its corporate partnership with Lloyds Banking Group until the end of 2010, with the aim of raising an additional £1m.

The partnership has been running for the past two years and has raised more than £2m for the charity.

The BHF said the extra money earned through the extended partnership would help to fund 12 new heart health professionals in communities throughout the UK for between two to three years.

Celina Gomez, head of account management at the BHF, said: "We are delighted to have the continued support of Lloyds Banking Group. The heart health professional posts are vital to the BHF’s work to extend care and support to cardiac patients."
