Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, which provides home care for people with life-threatening illnesses, is organising a Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge on 19 September. About 2,000 people are expected to climb Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon. The charity hopes to raise £150,000.

Bowel Cancer UK is launching a charity book sale in October to raise funds for improving awareness of bowel cancer. People can take part in the Big Book Sale by holding their own sales, or hosting book swaps and charging people an entry fee.

John Stephen, a trustee of Elizabeth Finn Care, which helps people in financial need, started a sponsored cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats on 5 September. He hopes to raise a total of £30,000 for Help the Hospices, LandAid, the property industry charity, and Turn2us, which is part of Elizabeth Finn Care.

Cancer Knights, a music event in aid of Cancer Research UK, will take place at the Arcadia Club on London's South Bank on 1 October. The event, featuring dancers, magicians and jugglers, will cost £5 for entry and aims to raise at least £10,000.
