Commission pulls flawed documents
By Paul Jump, Third Sector, 7 May 2008
The Charity Commission has removed its model governing documents for charitable companies from its website because parts of them were inconsistent with the Companies Act 2006.
Nicola Evans, a senior associate at law firm Bircham Dyson Bell, said: "Certain parts of the GD1 model documents are overridden by the act, but organisations that used the model would not necessarily be aware of this."
She said the regulator had acted quickly to rectify the oversight, but that the mistake demonstrated the financial pressures it was under.
The commission said it would publish a revised version of the documents within weeks and that organisations wishing to register in the meantime could contact it for advice.

No shock from the two-bit purveyors of knee jerk government friendly initiatives. More joke than effective regulator.[Report this post]
