Award winner North Devon Hospice
The charity scoops two trophies alongside the Royal British Legion, while the Commissioner for the Compact Bert Massie takes the top individual honour at the Third Sector Excellence Awards
The Royal British Legion and North Devon Hospice came away as the big winners at last night’s Third Sector Excellence Awards.
The two charities, which both won two awards, were among the 23 winners at the prestigious event, which took place at the Lancaster London hotel.
The Royal British Legion walked away with the awards for Innovation in Fundraising and Direct Marketing Campaign, while North Devon Hospice won the Financial Management and Fundraising Event accolades.
Citizens Advice also gained two awards for its involvement in partnerships with other charities.
Sir Bert Massie, the Commissioner for the Compact, won the Luke FitzHerbert Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the sector and to equality for people with disabilities.
Other winners at the awards, which are sponsored by insurance firm Markel included: East Cheshire Hospice (Annual Report), Toynbee Hall (Public Sector Partnership) and Shelter (Fundraising Team). Rebecca Smith of the youth charity Service Six was named Volunteer of the Year.
