Britain's Most Admired Charities 2011
Voting in Third Sector's annual awards closes on Monday
The chief executives of Stonewall and Samaritans are among six sector leaders nominated for the Most Admired Chief Executive category of Third Sector's Britain's Most Admired Charities awards for 2011.
Ben Summerskill of Stonewall and Catherine Johnstone of Samaritans have been shortlisted for the award. They face competition from Henny Braund of Anthony Nolan, Thomas Hughes-Hallett of Marie Curie Cancer Care, Jeremy Swain of Thames Reach and Juliet Lyon, director of the Prison Reform Trust.
The winners of this and three other categories are being chosen by charity chief executives, who are invited to cast their votes here. Voting closes on Monday 22 August.
Chief executives who vote can also apply for a free invitation to the ceremony, which will be held on the evening of Tuesday 18 October on the 30th floor of Barclays' headquarters in Canary Wharf, east London.
The three other categories in the awards are Most Admired Charity, Most Innovative Charity and Celebrity Charity Champion.
Last year's winners were the food poverty charity FareShare, James Partridge of the disfigurement charity Changing Faces, the offender rehabilitation charity the St Giles Trust and the actor Joanna Lumley.
Candidates for this year's awards were nominated by a panel of 10 sector experts and shortlists of six in each category were drawn up by Third Sector staff.
