Neuberger to advise PM

Liberal Democrat peer and Third Sector columnist Baroness Julia Neuberger has been appointed by Gordon Brown as a special adviser to the Government on volunteering.

Neuberger’s appointment follows part of the new prime minister’s pledge to bring in talent from outside of the Labour Party. She will advise Brown directly, and will also work with other government ministers and voluntary sector representatives to champion volunteering.
