Charitable status review begins for Scottish organisations

The National Trust for Scotland and the Scottish Youth Hostels Association are among the first 30 charities to have their status reviewed as the first phase of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator's rolling review gets under way.

As charities with membership structures, the two organisations are among those whose charitable status OSCR deems to be most uncertain under the terms set out in the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
