Accrue funds with care, says regulator

The Charity Commission has warned charities against overly complicated financial arrangements after an investigation into a West Midlands charity that received donations from 57 companies operating out of only nine addresses.

The Birmingham-based Community, Education and Development Foundation, which supports charitable purposes in the West Midlands and the Punjab region of India, had submitted accounts for the three years up to 2006 showing an average income of nearly £440,000.
