Charity Bank North to open in November
By Mathew Little, Third Sector, 24 October 2007
Charity Bank's first regional office will open next month. Charity Bank in the North will be launched at Doncaster Racecourse in the presence of Ed Miliband, Minister for the Cabinet Office.
The Leeds office intends to make more than £20m available to third sector organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber area. Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward has invested £10m in the bank, money that is intended to counter the effect of a cut in European funding for community economic development.
Malcolm Hayday, chief executive of Charity Bank, said: "We look forward to making Charity Bank in the North a permanent feature of the financial sector."
