New strategy for the Welsh sector
By Emilie Filou, Third Sector, 7 November 2007
The Welsh Assembly Government will launch its four-year strategic plan for the third sector at the Wales Council for Voluntary Action annual conference on 29 November.
The Third Dimension - A Strategic Action Plan for the Voluntary Sector Scheme is expected to confirm the Welsh Assembly's commitment to the voluntary sector and set out a list of priorities and actions it can work on with the sector.
The Welsh Assembly plans to enhance the sector's role in strengthening communities, a proposal WCVA supported in its response to the consultation. It recently made clear its support for the sector by announcing an £800,000 grants package to support youth volunteering in Wales (Third Sector Online, 5 November).
