Governance code is to be reviewed

By Emilie Filou, Third Sector, 28 November 2007

The Governance Hub has commissioned a review of the awareness, reach and influence of its code Good Governance.

The code, which was launched in 2005, is a model of good practice that ensures boards have the right processes in place to achieve good governance. The research will be carried out by consultancy nfpSynergy and will seek the views of third sector representatives.

"We want to find out what people's experience of using the code has been over the past two years," said Joe Saxton, co-founder of nfpSynergy. "How has the code helped them? How could it be made more relevant to more organisations?"

The findings are expected to be published next spring. The hub will be replaced by the new leadership and governance national support service in April, but its partner organisations have reaffirmed their commitment to the code.
