Future 'precarious' for many family charities

Many small organisations that work with children, young people and families are facing a precarious future and possible closure despite government support, according to research published today by the National Council of Voluntary Child Care Organisations.

The Under the Radar report, which draws on responses to a survey of more than 100 small voluntary children’s organisations, says that almost 50 per cent saw their funding from government reduced in the past year and 10 per cent are closing or under threat of closure. Ninety per cent...
