Channel 4 presenters on board for Sue Ryder appeal

Squeaky clean: Kim and Aggie

The 'Queens of Clean', television presenters Kim and Aggie, are the faces of Sue Ryder Care's new Spring Clean appeal.

The palliative and neurological care charity is urging people to clean out their cupboards and donate unwanted items to any of its 370 UK shops.

“If your cupboards and drawers are so crammed full that you are short of storage space, you need to clear out and get rid of the items you no longer need or use,” said Kim Woodburn, who presents Channel 4’s How Clean is your House? with Aggie MacKenzie.

“By supporting Sue Ryder Care in this way, people can help the charity make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people it cares for each year.”

Sue Ryder Care aims to raise around £13m a year. As one of the few major charities that claim Gift Aid on donations to their shops, it can add an extra 28 per cent to the value of each item received.

Alan Hodges, director of retail at the charity, said: “Our appeal aims to encourage people not to throw items that can be re-used in the bin, but instead donate to our shops. All donations can be converted into vital funds to enable us to continue to provide care that liberates lives.”
