Charity ordered to conduct CRB checks after investigation into trustee

A religious charity has been told it must improve its child-protection practices after a trustee was suspected of trafficking young women to work in the UK's sex industry.

The trustee of the Manchester-based education charity Jamia Mosque and Islamic Centre was taken to court but found not guilty to charges of “arranging the arrival of persons to the UK for the purposes of sexual exploitation” . The charity had decided that the man should continue as a trustee...
