Applications for Welsh fund leap after £1m injection

The Wales Council for Voluntary Action received the same number of applications for a community grants fund in a month as it usually does in a year after the Welsh Assembly Government announced an extra £1m in funding last December.

The Communities First Trust Fund, which has been running since 2002, was established to give small grants to community groups with a minimum of delay and red tape.
