Carole Cochrane is the new chief executive at the Princess Royal Trust for Carers

Carole Cochrane has been appointed to the role of chief executive at the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

Cochrane has been confirmed in the top role at the trust after 11 months as acting chief executive. She was formerly an assistant director of operations at the charity. The former chief executive was Shan Nicholas, who went to the YWCA as interim chief executive for a period.

"It is estimated that 6,000 people take on caring responsibilities every day, which often leads to a life of poverty, isolation, frustration and ill-health," said Cochrane. "This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to support more carers through our network of centres and websites and make a real difference to carers' lives."

From communication with this lady I cannot see any difference happening at the PRTC.

They are yet another charity that think they know best what we Carers need. In fact they are part of OUR problem when stats like that are used, they are unprovable and obtuse.

I love this http://www.carersuk.org/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=10794

Carers can't even access an hours respite yet paid charity workers can bugger off to Brazil?

More eveidence that Carer charities haven't a clue as to what Carers want, and to be honest they don't really give a damn either. We are just 'cash cows' to them.

Now lets see, my holiday this year will be? Oh, I forgot, as usual I ain't gonna get one >:\(
