There is nothin' like (piece of art from) a dame

A self-portrait of Barry Humphries as his alter-ego Dame Edna Everage is among the pieces of artwork that the TV comic has donated to be auctioned for children's charity NCH.

“The NCH does a fantastic job in supporting the most vulnerable and excluded children, so I am delighted that the money raised from the sale of my one of paintings will go towards helping these children,” said Humphries.

The auction will take place at the NCH shop in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, at midday on Saturday 19 April. “We would encourage anyone who would like to be involved in our first-ever shop auction to visit our Hatfield shop and help raise lots of money for NCH,” said Edward Hodgkins, interim head of corporate fundraising at NCH.
