CAN offices 'save the sector millions'

The London office spaces owned by social enterprise support organisation Community Action Network save the sector more than £2.2m each year, according to new figures.

The research, carried out by an independent consultant from the London Business School, assessed the impact of the first Mezzanine office at London Bridge. It found the offices were 55 per cent cheaper than the three main private-sector providers, and saved charities and social enterprises £5,000 for every desk rented.

"We keep costs down because we have a smaller profit margin than most private-sector businesses would require," said Andrew Croft, director of CAN Mezzanine.
