Online quiz aims to expose 'G8 lies'

Worldwrite UK has launched an online quiz that encourages the public to find out if they have been deceived by G8 debt cancellation and anti-poverty campaigns.

The education and campaigning charity's quiz invites people to decide whether 20 statements relating to issues such as debt relief and aid for poor African countries are true or false.

Worldwrite uses the quiz to argue that the G8 lends money to developing countries only on the condition that it has influence over how those countries spend their own income.

Ceri Dingle, director of Worldwrite, said campaigners should "stop looking to the G8 as saviours of Africa and start demanding the G8 butt out of the affairs of developing countries".
