OSCR prepares to announce review results

The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator will announce its decisions regarding the charitable status of the first 30 charities to undergo its 'rolling review' of charitable status.

The group, which includes schools, care providers and membership organisations, was selected to be a representative sample of priority charities to be assessed using the charity test in the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

The OSCR originally pledged to announce its decisions by the end of May, but delayed the announcement in order to give it more time to consider contentious issues such as fee levels and charitable benefit for people who are not members of membership charities.

See Third Sector Online later today for the results.
