Out-of-court deal in tribunal case

The YWCA has reached an out-of-court agreement with a former manager days before the start of an employment tribunal hearing.

The charity, which works with disadvantaged young women, confirmed that it had reached an agreement with Jane Whittle, former London and south east regional manager.

Whittle filed a claim of unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination after being made redundant last year (Third Sector, 30 January). The case was scheduled to start earlier this week.

"We are pleased to say that a mutual agreement has been reached to resolve the differences between YWCA and Jane Whittle," said a YWCA spokeswoman.

Details of the agreement are confidential. Whittle was unavailable for comment.
