Paul Cheng, the former acting head of CAF Venturesome, has left the organisation with immediate effect, the Charities Aid Foundation said today.

Cheng, who joined Venturesome, which is the social investment arm of CAF, in 2006, became acting head of the organisation in July last year after John Kingston, its founder director, stepped down.

Cheng had returned to his previous role as senior investment manager after the appointment in January of Stephanie Sturrock, former chief executive of the Yorkshire-based social enterprise Seachange, as CAF’s director of social investment, with responsibility for overseeing Venturesome.

A CAF spokesman said he could not confirm why Cheng had left or if he had a position to move on to.

John Low, chief executive of CAF, said: "We are grateful for the positive contributions that Paul made to the development of CAF Venturesome and to the social investment market more widely."
