Plans for new web resource archive

Fundraising guru Ken Burnett is in discussion with the Institute of Fundraising and fundraisers support group the Resource Alliance about hosting an online archive of past fundraising projects to help charities share best practice.

He is considering setting up an international foundation to run the site. "I want to put it in a safe set of hands and possibly run it as a charitable organisation," said Burnett.

He launched a prototype site, The Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration, at the International Fundraising Congress in Amsterdam last month (Third Sector Online, 25 October).

So far, 150 organisations from 23 countries have uploaded resources that range from a fundraising letter written in 1235 by Indian mystic Eihei Dogen to advice on topics such as direct mail. The site will be fully launched by next year.
