Politcians grill journalists for CRUK fundraiser

Former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone will interrogate Sky TV journalist Adam Boulton at Cancer Research UK's ninth annual Turn the Tables fundraising event.

CRUK will host the annual event, at which politicians grill journalists, on 13 October.

Polly Wood, chairman of CRUK's national events committee, said she expected this year's event to be the most explosive to date and that the charity hoped to raise about £75,000.

BBC journalist Evan Davis will be questioned by Alan Duncan MP, the Conservative spokesman on business, enterprise and regulatory reform.

CRUK will ask guests to donate £100 each to pose questions to the people in the hot seat. A table for 10 people will cost £3,000, or £3,500 if it includes a politician.

Since the first event in 2000, Turn the Tables has raised more than £600,000 for the charity.
