Politics: Climate lobbyists urge Bill progress

People & Planet and other organisations involved in the Stop Climate Chaos coalition are asking supporters to lobby MPs for the Climate Change Bill to be included in the Queen's Speech.

The Bill was introduced by a cross-party group of MPs shortly before the 2005 General Election, but it was not included among the 50 Bills in last year's Queen's Speech. Stop Climate Chaos wants the Government to commit to a 3 per cent annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

The new lobbying campaign began when Parliament returned at the start of this week. The Queen's Speech is on 15 November.
