Politics: Tony Lloyd, Labour MP tables motion

Tony Lloyd, Labour MP for Manchester Central, has tabled an early day motion in support of the voluntary sector campaign for a Community Day bank holiday. The campaign calls on the Government to create an extra bank holiday to allow people to volunteer in their communities.

Third sector organisations have until 20 September to respond to a 'third sector discussion', which was launched this month by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
