30,846 registered charities classify themselves as carrying out "religious activities"

300 of these are scouting groups

130 of the 30,846 charities have incomes of more than £10m a year and 4,485 have incomes between £10,001 and £25,000

11,997 of the charities say they make grants to organisations, and 6,645 say they make grants to individuals

1,523 of the charities have registered with the Charity Commission in the past 12 months

3,408 of the charities are overdue in filing their latest accounts with the Charity Commission. These include Deeper Christian Life Ministry, which had a £1.7m income in 2008/09 and whose 2009/10 accounts are 115 days overdue

1,334 of the charities say they sponsor or carry out research
